Poetry can inspire visual art by activating colours, shapes, and images in my head. These prints can be enjoyed alone, or in conjunction with reading my book.

This painting was inspired the poem “Pacific Northwest” found in my book ‘I Dance Between Them’.
The poem was inspired by my childhood and early adulthood living in Vancouver, specifically its forests and mountains and their connection to water. The colours are meant to represent the trees, rivers, rain, lichens, mosses, and fungi found in PNW forests.

The poem examines where the mind goes when some of us “zone out” during boring every-day occurrences. On the outside we may look neutral, but inside our mind is dancing, doing flips, and imagining whole other worlds.
